THE NON-CONFERENCE home attendance record is broken, James Rodgers averages a hefty 34 yards per return and more.
Pre game notes:
Oregon State
won the toss and deferred to the second half. The Beavers won the toss against
TCU
and chose to receive.

Attendance for the game was 45,379. The attendance figure is the largest ever at Reser Stadium for a non-conference game. It is the fourth-largest mark at an OSU home game (trailing 11/29/08 vs. Oregon, 11/15/08 vs.
California
and 11/10/07 against
Washington
).
Game time weather was cloudy at 63 degrees and raining. Wind was 1 mph from the South, Southwest.
OSU improved to 27-1 in the last 28 nonconference home games.

Miscellaneous notes
:
The game took three hours and 12 minutes to play. Seven minutes longer than the TCU game.
Oregon State was penalized seven times for 65 yards while Louisville had yellow flags thrown on them eight times for 65 yards. There were just 10 penalties for 75 yards in the entire TCU/OSU game.
Louisville ran 77 plays, Oregon State 61 - that's 10 more then OSU ran against TCU.
The Beavers’ victory gives Oregon State a victory in their last nine home openers.

improved his all-time record to 65-48. The 65 wins is nine shy of tying

’s school record 74.
The Beavers came into the game ranked 25th in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. It is the latest in the month of September that the Beavers have been ranked since 2001.
Oregon State improved to 27-1 in its last 28 non-conference games at Reser Stadium dating back to 1996. OSU’s only loss during that stretch was at the hands of

Hekker's inconsistency hurts, but Rodgers was electric.

Johnny Hekker
averaged 43.0 yards per punt in seven attempts with a long of 54. Two of his punts were downed inside the 20. He averaged 43.4 yards against TCU.
Hekker did have a couple of bad punts shanking one in the second half that gave Louisville excellent field position.

Justin Kahut
connected on all five on his extra points making him 8 of 8 on the year. He did not attempt a field goal.
Kahut averaged 64.8 yards per kickoff - two yards less than his average versus the Horned Frogs.

James Rodgers
returned four kickoffs for 161 yards, with a long of 63, for a 40.2 average.
Quon also fielded two punts for 43 yards, with a long of 28.
Just on kick and punt returns he had 204 yards averaging 34 yards every time he fielded a punt.
Rodgers leads the nation in all-purpose yards averaging 226.5 yards per game.
