NOTES FOR DISH SUBSCRIBERS:
Dish Network subscribers woke up Friday morning to find that all of Fox’s regional sports networks, along with FX and the National Geographic Channel, had gone black. The two companies, News Corp and Dish, can’t agree on the amount of fees to be paid and so consumers were left without as of Friday. Dish Network says it has about 14 million subscribers. Both companies issued statements blaming one another.
Dish said in its statement that Fox was demanding an “unprecedented rate increase of more than 50 percent.” A Fox spokesman, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the 50 percent reference was a "gross overstatement," and "The proposal we've offered Dish is fair and in line with the tremendous value we provide.
During the impasse, Dish said they will make the NFL Network, Big Ten Network and other regional sports channels available “to all affected customers at no additional charge.” That won't, however, help Beaver fans see the OSU-ASU game. For more, click here.
Kickoff
is Saturday, Oct. 2 at 3:36 PM PST.
