WEATHERLINE: Arizona State at Oregon State

THE WEATHER IS forecast to be picture perfect as Oregon State opens up its conference schedule with Arizona State, whom the Beavers have defeated in three of the last four games. However, they're not favored by much, indicating that Vegas has taken notice of the Sun Devils coming oh-so-close to knocking off two ranked teams in their past two games.

Oregon State is a 3.5 point favorite. The home team has been favored in the last six matchups, but Oregon State has won three of the last four.

In the last 10 matchups OSU has been favorted five times while ASU has been favored five times. The 15.5-point spread in 2008 is the highest spread in the last 10 years versus the Sun Devils.

The 3.5 spread is the lowest spread sine 2006 (2).

This season the Beavs are 2-1 against the spread.




Arizona State leads 24-11-1

The series dates back to 1961 with Arizona State leading 24-11-1, but Oregon State has won three of the last four games.

The Beavers defeated ASU last season at Sun Devil Stadium 28-17 ending a 16-game losing streak to ASU in Tempe. Former Beaver quarterback Sean Canfield threw for two touchdowns and running back Jacquizz Rodgers added two scores to account for OSU’s points. The Beavers led 21-3 at halftime.
