Paea, Kahut take Pac-10 POW honors

HOW'S THAT FOR a 1-2 punch. Oregon State seniors Stephen Paea and Justin Kahut were selected the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively, following the Beavers' 36-7 win over No. 20 USC on Saturday.

Stephen Paea recorded six tackles, including 2 ½ for loss, with one sack and a forced fumble in the 29-point win.

The sack gave him 13 for his career, placing him in a tie for 10th in school history. The eighth forced fumble of his OSU career put him No. 1 in program history.

Justin Kahut hit on all three of his field-goal attempts, connecting from 34, 38 and 35 yards. He came into the USC game with only three field goals made. He also tallied three PATs against 'SC to give him 252 points for his career, which moves him into sole possession of fifth-place in Oregon State program history.

Paea and Kahut join Lance Mitchell (Defensive Player of the Week, Sept. 7) and Ryan Katz (Offensive Player of the Week, Oct. 11) as Oregon State players honored by the Pac-10 in 2010.

Oregon State plays at No. 7 Stanford on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT with VERSUS handling the live television broadcast.
