Scout.com breaks down newest Beavs

SO JUST WHAT KIND of players has Oregon State landed in 2012 class members QB Brent Vanderveen and OT Gavin Andrews? We put the question to Scout.com's Brandon Huffman..

"Brent Vanderveen has good height (6-5) but he is a little on the slight side at 203 pounds," said Huffman. He's got pretty good arm strength and accuracy.

"He showed good athleticism and mobility as a junior, and he can run if needed. If OSU were to utilize a rolling pocket from time to time, or if protection breaks down, he has the ability to throw on the run."

"Gavin Andrews is a very good run blocker," said Huffman. "And he has good arm length for pass protection, but could use some work in pass-pro staying with his defender.

"He's been more a waist bender than a knee bender, that's something that he'll need to work on to reach his potential. He's versatile, he could also play inside as a guard. Oregon State fans will like that he has a lot of nasty in him on the field."
