Roberts started the entire 2002 season opposite of Bengal fourth round pick, Dennis Weathersby.
He had an excellent senior year breaking up 11 passes, just one less than his teammate.
As a Beaver he played in 45 games, starting 22 straight.
Often, opposing teams would throw at Roberts instead of Weathersby. Roberts met the challenge nicely with tough, physical defense.
While at Oregon State, Roberts racked up 116 tackles, 79 solo, five picks, and 22 breakups.
Roberts also returned punts for the Beavers in 2001 and 2002.
The 5-foot-9, 209-pound California native was one of thirteen undrafted rookies signed by the Bengals.
A mandatory full-squad mini-camp will be held June 9-11.
Roberts joins Calvin Carlyle and Eric Manning as Oregon State players who have signed free agent contracts. Carlyle signed with Indianapolis and Manning with Carolina last Sunday.
