A PAIR OF Oregon State defensemen, one of whom was to have challenged for a starting job this fall, have left the program according to a newspaper report.

Redshirt freshman middle linebacker Michael Bibbee and sophomore safety Dax Dilbeck are no longer on the team, according to a report in the Corvallis Gazette Times. No reason was given for their departure.

Bibbee, from Eugene, redshirted last season. He was a candidate for the starting middle linebacker spot, though probably a darkhorse candidate behind Feti Unga and Tony Wilson. (Rueben Robinson is moving to outside linebacker according to published reports.)

Dilbeck played sparingly on special teams last season before a knee injury shuttered his season.
