DE Taylor Henry leaves team

DEFENSIVE END TAYLOR HENRY has left the football program, leaving the Beavs without their most experienced defensive end heading into the final two weeks of the season.

Taylor Henry has left the program for personal reasons, Oregon State said Monday.

No further details were given as to the reason why, with just two games remaining, Henry is hanging them up. The junior has battled injuries over his career, with true freshman Dylan Wynn filling in and getting more and more playing time opposite Scott Crichton, a redshirt freshman at the other d-end spot this season.

Taylor's departure is a blow to the Beaver depth up front. Rudolf Fifita figures to get more playing time as a backup to Wynn and/or Crichton, with John Braun also now in the mix.

Henry started five games this season, playing in seven. He had 17 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.

Henry started nine games all told in his OSU career, missing a good part of last season with back issues.
