Post-visit, Beavs and OLB look like good fit
"I'm leaning towards OSU after this weekend, but I'd like to take more trips to nail it down…Everything was really good, the whole program is put together really well at Oregon State. I'm from the West coast, and I just I liked it a lot," said Cowdin.
Other schools in the mix include Washington, Kentucky, South Florida, Nevada and Iowa State. He expects to talk with several teams this week.
Visit dates will then likely be solidified in the coming days, with Cowdin planning to choose a college, enroll and start taking classes in January and get ready to go through spring ball.
IF COWDIN SHOULD come to OSU, what kind of a player would the Beavs be getting?
Cowdin said OSU told him they see him blitzing a lot but also dropping back into coverage.
They said they see me sliding into Cameron Collins' role, they want to utilize my speed -- it just looks like a really good fit the way they play defense.
Cowdin said he's looking for a coach and staff he connects with, and that Oregon State ranked high in that area during his visit.
"Coach (Mark) Banker is a really good guy, I like him a lot, he seems like he'd be a really good coach and I really liked the whole coaching staff. I came off the edge a lot at College of the Desert, and it feels like I'd be in the same element there," said Cowdin.
Cowdin racked up 61 tackles this season, including 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions as a sophomore. he has three to play two at the next level.
