Hardin, Rodgers turn heads on Pro Day

BRANDIN HARDIN AND JAMES RODGERS by all accounts certainly helped themselves during Oregon State's pro day. Hardin turned in a scorching 40 time and Rodgers shaved nearly two-tenths off his 40 time at the NFL Combine.

Analyst Rob Rang, who has long covered the NFL Draft, said Brandon Hardin wowed scouts on Friday in Corvallis.

Hardin "showed scouts from roughly half of the league's teams at the Oregon State Pro Day that perhaps he should have been" invited to the Combine, said Rang.

Hardin was clocked at around 4.38 and 4.40 seconds in the 40-yard dash, according to sources. Hardin also registered a 35.5" vertical jump and a 10'4" broad jump. He lifted the bar 24 during the bench press drill in coming back from shoulder surgery.

James Rodgers, meanwhile, significantly bettered his performance at the NFL Combine with an unofficial 4.49 in the 40-yard dash on Friday.

Other unofficially 40 times were widely reported as: Cam Collins: 4.77; Joe Halahuni: 4.73; Ryan McCants: 4.49, Mike Remmers: 5.03; Brennan Olander: 5.12.

The morning began with vertical leap and bench press tests in the Sports Performance Center, said OSU SID. Collins led the group with 30 reps at 225 pounds in the bench, following by 29 reps by Perry.
