SPEED MERCHANT Tatum Taylor ended up rescheduling his unofficial visit to Oregon State this weekend. But while in Oregon he did make some noise at the track event, setting two meet records.

“I didn’t end up visiting Oregon State,” said Tatum Taylor (5-10, 160). “They wanted me to see more things on Friday than I could, so we rescheduled. I’ll probably end up going down in the next two weeks when I have more time to do it right.”

Taylor, a WR prospect the Beavs have their eye on, was down in the Beaver State for the Oregon Relays. Taylor had to take about three weeks off recently to get rid of a cold – but he looked ahead of schedule on Saturday, setting personal records in the 100 meters and 200 meters.

Track went well, I set meet records in the two events. I had a 10.65 in the 100, and a 21.6 in the 200. I usually I don’t ‘PR’ until later in the season because of the way we train, we try to peak for nationals in the summer. But I’ll take the PR now,” he laughed.

The meet was held in Eugene. Oregon likes him in track, he said, and is expected to offer him in that sport when track recruiting opens up for the most part on July 1.

“I met with the Oregon track coach but not the football coaches… I liked the campus and facilities and the atmosphere,” said Taylor.
