The Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List will be periodically revised until the first round of voting is completed, which determines the Top 25 quarterfinalists for 2012. The second round of voting will determine the final seven semifinalists or "Seven Blocks of Granite." The third round of voting will determine the four finalists. The fourth and final round of voting will determine the winner which will be announced on national television December 5, 2012.
Jordan Poyer was also recently named to the watch lists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Jim Thorpe Award. The Nagurski Award is presented annually to the nation's top defensive player, the Thorpe Award to the country's best defensive back.
Poyer is also on the watch list for the Lott Trophy.
Poyer was second team All-Pac-12 selection last season on defense after posting 57 tackles, 12 pass deflections and four interceptions. He also averaged 14.1 yards per punt return and 22.7 yards per kickoff return.

The season opener is Sept. 1 --- the Beavers host Nicholls State at Reser Stadium.
