Vaz is Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week
His 332 yards were the most by a Beaver quarterback making his first start since Matt Moore in the 2005 season opener against Portland State.
In addition, Vaz was selected a Manning Award Star of the Week, one of four to be a candidate for the ESPN Capital One Impact Performance of the Week (vote here) and a Davey O'Brien Award honorable mention pick.
Vaz is the fourth to earn a weekly honor this season for the Beavs (5-0) -- a Pac-12 high.
He joins quarterback Sean Mannion, linebacker D.J. Welch and punter Keith Kostol. Vaz and Mannion are the first two quarterbacks from the same team to get the weekly Conference honor in the same season since Nick Foles and Matt Scott of Arizona in 2010.
The Beavers return to action this Saturday at home against Utah in a night game being televised live by ESPN2. Kickoff is slated for 7:36 p.m. A limited number of tickets remain by contacting OSU at 1-800-GO-BEAVS between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or online at BeaverTickets.com.
