"I committed to Northwestern. I knew once they offered that it was the school that I wanted to go to," Davison said. "It's a great academic program and I have already been out to Chicago. It was pretty much a done deal when they offered because I'm a big academic guy."
Along with being a big academic guy, Davison is also one of the more intriguing prospects in Southern California. He has shown great quickness off the edge from his defensive end spot in high school, but will play outside linebacker on the next level.
"They want me to play outside linebacker. Their linebackers are big and physical, kind of like I see myself in the near future," said Davison. "They run a 3-4 defense so I will be that blitzing outside linebacker."
Davison had offers from several other schools including Boise State, Iowa State and Colorado State, but came to the conclusion that he wanted to commit to Northwestern after carefully weighing all of his options with his family.
"It was definitely a tough process. I talked with my parents for a couple weeks," Davison explained. "We sat down at the dinner table at night and laid out the offers I had and where my future was going to head towards."
One of the big factors that went into this decision was the relationship that he built with the Northwestern coaching staff.
"I have been talking to them since the beginning of spring, so we have built up a really good relationship," Davison said. "They look for guys with character and I can see that in them as well."
The three-star outside linebacker plans to take an official visit to Northwestern in December.
