Two more visits on tap for Ross

Other than an official visit to Oregon in early October, Long Beach (Ca.) Jordan WR John Ross has chosen to focus on his senior season rather than recruiting. However, that came to an end on November 2nd when his team didn't make the playoffs and now he's ready to figure out where he'll play his college football and he's set up visits to two more schools to help him arrive at a decision...

"I'm visiting Washington on December 7th and Oregon State on November 24th," Ross told Dawgman.com. "I've already visited Oregon and I'm not sure which other schools are going to get visits, but that's my schedule right now."

Ross isn't much for talking, preferring to let his play speak for him, however he did mention his time at Oregon and what type of impression it made on him.

"I had a really great time on my visit (to Eugene)," Ross said. "They want to use me a lot like they use DeAnthony Thomas -- sorta as a running back and as a receiver -- and that's sorta how I was used on my team as well.

"They have a great program there, they are ranked number two or number one and they know how to get their playmakers the ball. That's an exciting offense to be part of."

That being said, he said the way the Huskies and Beavers use their players is also intriguing to him.

"They both like to use their receivers in different ways too which is pretty cool," Ross said. "Washington gets the ball in the hands of their receivers and they have a great running game. They like to get you the ball on short passes and let you make plays.

"Oregon State likes to use that 'fly motion' and let their playmakers make plays. Honestly, I could see myself fitting into either of their systems too."

In addition to Washington, Oregon and Oregon State, UCLA, Wisconsin and Nebraska still appear to be schools who Ross is considering, but as he noted, he is unsure at this point which other visits, if any, he will take after his trip to Seattle.

We will continue to keep tabs on Ross as he continues to work his way through the recruiting process and will update news as it happens.
