No Doubt for Johnson

It was a good, rivalry weekend for Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw athlete Mossi Johnson.

The UCLA commit helped his Cougar squad knock off their arch rivals, Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey, in the City Section quarterfinals on Friday.

Then on Saturday, Johnson watched his future school beat their crosstown nemesis, USC, at the Rose Bowl.

"I was there at the Rose Bowl and I enjoyed it," said Johnson. "I already knew UCLA was going to win."

Johnson saw the significance in both wins, especially in Los Angeles.

"The blue and gold is getting ready to take over the city," said Johnson.

Johnson went to work on a couple of UCLA recruits that were at the Rose Bowl.

"I talked to (Culver City receiver) Julius Wilson, he's a good friend of mine, and (Long Beach Jordan receiver) John Ross," said Johnson. "Hopefully they commit to UCLA."

Johnson, who can play on both sides of the ball, talked with Bruin coaches following the game.

"I talked to both Coach (Demetrice) Martin and Coach (Eric) Yarber, and I think they're still fighting over which side I'm going to play," said Johnson. "Honestly, I want to be on both sides of the ball if that's possible, but I'd rather be a receiver."

This weekend, Johnson and Crenshaw continue their pursuit of the City Section title, when they face Venice in the semifinals.
