2013 Duarte (Calif.) running back Marcus Lewis is staying patient, waiting on his first scholarship offer.

"Everything is going well," Lewis tells FOX Sports NEXT. "I'm still talking with Georgetown, Cal Poly SLO, and San Diego.

"I will probably take a visit to Cal Poly soon and maybe Georgetown also."

Lewis says he feels Cal Poly is the closest to offering.

"They are telling me they like me but they're just finalizing everything and deciding which players to offer scholarships to," he shares. "The running back coach said he likes me and is pulling for me."

On his upcoming visit, Lewis will be on the lookout for several factors.

"I'll be looking for their coaching style, how they run the triple option, the roster and depth chart, school atmosphere, how it is around campus, the social life and academically, I want to check into my major," says Lewis.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound athlete who wants to study Law in college, reports a 3.4 GPA.
