Hilinski shuffling visits

Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame quarterback Kelly Hilinski had two visits lined up for early December but coaching changes at both programs have put those trips on hold for now.

Kelly Hilinski had a solid senior season completing 128-219 passes (58%) for 2,150 yards and 19 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He also rushed for 127 yards and six scores.

"Recruiting is kind of crazy for me," Hilinski said. "I'm supposed to visit Colorado this weekend (Dec. 7) but that might change since they fired Coach Embree. I was very disappointed because I liked Coach Embree a lot and thought he deserved another year. He was a great guy and I really thought he was going to turn the program around.

Then I was supposed to visit North Carolina State the following weekend (Dec. 14) but they let go of their coach, Tom O'Brien too. I've talked to NC State a few times and I've been in touch with Coach Scherer at Colorado the entire time. They both still want me to visit and said as soon as they name a new coach, they'll trip me in."

Hilinski also received a recent offer from Wyoming and said he's interested in taking a visit there as well.

"I'm looking to visit Wyoming sometime in January," Hilinski said. "I also want to visit Yale sometime in January as well. I just have to see when I schedule the Colorado and NC State visits before I can schedule anything else."
