Sherfy Tabbed Pre-Season All-American

Oregon junior right-handed pitcher Jimmie Sherfy was named a first-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Wednesday.

Sherfy was 5-3 last season with a 2.20 earn run average and ended the season with a total of 96 strikeouts in 36 appearances holding opponents to a .172 batting average.

According to a media release from the Oregon Athletic Department, Sherfy, earned multiple All-America honors as a sophomore after finishing the season with 19 saves and was a first-team ABCA/Rawlings plus a second-team All-American-America NCBWA, Baseball America and Perfect Game. Louisville Slugger named Sherfy to its third-team all-america list.
