UCLA will announce that Anthony Barr will return for his senior season, according to sources.
Barr, the junior linebacker, had a breakout season in 2012. After being switched from the offensive side of the ball where he was a running back last year, Barr was one of the best linebackers in the Pac-12 this season. He leads the nation with 13.5 sacks on the year, and was recently named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year by CollegeFootballNews.com.
There has been much speculation that Barr would make the early leap to the NFL, especially after he had been listed as a potential first-round draft choice by some NFL Draft projections.
Sources have indicated that UCLA coaches and Barr have discussed a potential early entry into the NFL, but Barr and has decided to return to UCLA for 2013, and UCLA will announce it soon.
