Beavs finish season ranked in Top 20

OREGON STATE FINISHED the 2012 campaign ranked No. 19, 20 in the final Coaches' and AP polls of the season. The nine wins for Oregon State was a far cry from where the pundits saw them at the start of the season.

OSU was picked to finish last in the Pac-12 North coming off a 3-9 season in 2011.

Safe to say, virtually no one was predicting the 9-4 season Oregon State turned out in 2012.

Also absent was the prediction that the Beavs would be the Pac-12's No. 3 team, in line for an Alamo Bowl selection.

And yet that's what transpired.

Oregon State began the season without a single poll vote in either then AP or Coaches' poll but on the strength of a 6-0 start, finished in the Top 20 in each metric.

With a large nucleus of the team coming back in 2013, expectations will be higher this coming season. Recommended Stories
