Mike Breaks Down Berkeley Trip

Mike Breaks Down Berkeley Trip

After two days in Berkeley, Tucson (Ariz.) Sabino offensive tackle Andrew Mike breaks down just his third college unofficial.

As he made his way back to his Tucson (Ariz.) home from a weekend in Berkeley, Sabino High School offensive tackle Andrew Mike took some time out to speak with Cal Sports Digest about his two-day visit to California this weekend.

"It definitely helps to be able to meet all of them (the coaches), and they're hoping I come back more so I can watch the new offense, and I am too," said the 6-foot-7, 270-pounder.

On Monday, Mike was able to sit in on a biology class, and was quite impressed.

"It was a really cool experience, getting to see what these guys do every day of their life," Mike said. "It was cool."

For much of his trip, Mike got to hang out with offensive line coach Zach Yenser and meet the rest of the Bears' straff.

"I got to see the new stadium and all of the campus," said Mike, who's only visited two other schools on his offer list -- Arizona and Arizona State. "I think it's amazing how all of these amazing things can all be in one location, and they're all very tip-top."

How did his trip to Berkeley compare with his previous two visits?

"It was definitely different," Mike said. "The weather, definitely, and the academics, being in the class, it's going to be a tough decision."

Of particular import was getting to know Yenser, and how he works as a coach.

"He definitely wants them to be a tight group, because they're basically their own team within the team, and he wants them to be able to do things off the field together, and build themselves as young men," Mike said.
