Decision Day for Beavs' Moreland

WILL ERIC MORELAND GO PRO?

ERIC MORELAND will reportedly announce on Monday afternoon if he is going pro or staying at Oregon State. The athletic 6-10 sophomore and Oregon State basketball coach Craig Robinson will hold a press conference at Gill Coliseum.

Moreland has made his decision and scheduled the presser according to a report in The Oregonian but there have been no clear signs of which way he's going -- and there haven't been since he filed his paperwork for the NBA Draft in March.

His announcement will come one day ahead of the Tuesday NCAA deadline where underclassmen must either withdraw or lose their college eligibility.

Moreland averaged 10.6 rebounds per game for Oregon State (14-18) this past season, placing him in the nation's top ten. His 2.52 blocked shots per game were in the top 25.

But at 215 pounds, he would decidedly be on the lighter side in the NBA post. His offensive game has yet to flourish in the Pac-12, at 9.4 ppg last season. His athleticism, however, is high up on the charts.

"We are going in the right direction, and I definitely want to be a part of it," Moreland said of the Beavers to the Oregonian back in late March, adding that money is "probably the least important factor" in the decision.

If Moreland were to leave early, it would be a blow to the Beavs' frontcourt and a player not so easily replaced.

Monday's press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m.
