Joey Alfieri may play smack in the center of Stanford's defense, at inside linebacker. But there's…
Oregon State Recruiting Notebook
California remains the king when it comes to Oregon State recruiting -- no surprise there.
But the level to which Arizona and Texas have emerged as the key ancillary areas for the Beavs in the 2014 class is striking. Put them together and they nearly match California's total.
Here's how the known offers break down by state:
California – 38
Texas – 20
Arizona – 14
Washington - 6
Colorado – 5
Oregon – 4
Utah - 3
Oklahoma – 2
Kansas – 2
Wyoming – 1
Nevada – 1
Virginia – 1
Louisiana – 1
Missouri - 1
Iowa – 1
Tennessee – 1
In-state, Mike Riley's twitter account recently indicated the Beavs were going full bore in the Portland area at the end of the period.
"Coach Joe and @Coach_Bray doing some VERY important work in PDX!" read Riley's twitter page.
There are three Portland prospects with known OSU offers -- Henry Mondeaux, Joey Alfieri and Connor Humphreys.
All are rated three stars by scout.com.
Interestingly, there are no known prospects out of Hawaii with known OSU offers, though it stands to reason that won't be the case for long is previous classes are any indication.
Oregon State has one known verbal commit -- QB Nick Mitchell out of Snoqualmie, Wash. Last year, the Beavs didn't land their QB in the 2013 class until just before Signing Day.
