DE decommits from Beavs, staying local

RECRUITING DOWN THE stretch is often filled with twists and turns. On Monday, Bellevue, Wash. defensive end Shane Bowman, who had been verbally committed to Oregon State since July, decommitted from OSU and pledged to the local school, UW.

Shane Bowman announced his decision on twitter.

"Shane Bowman @shanebowman54
I have decommited from Oregon State-Coach Riley and Coach Joe are tremendous people with a great program but just not the perfect fit for me."

Three minutes later, Bowman tweeted he was heading to Washington.

"Shane Bowman @shanebowman54
"With that being said I have committed to the University of Washington."

Bowman is ranked the No. 83 d-end prospect in the nation by and three stars. He officially visited Washington this past weekend.

The Beavs have two other players on the commit list that are classified as defensive ends: Sumner Houston and Glyeb Ewing. Recommended Stories
