Garrett is Beavs' new OC, says source

A SURPRISING CHOICE BY RILEY FOR OC: JOHN GARRETT

MIKE RILEY HAS made his choice on his new offensive coordinator, a source tells BeaverFootball.com and now it's just a matter of wrapping up the administrative loose ends that come with any hire. And Riley, as he's prone to do, has gone the unconventional route in tabbing John Garrett, who has been in the NFL the past seven seasons, to be OSU's new OC/quarterbacks coach.

John Garrett was last in the college game in 2004-07, as a receivers coach for Virginia the first three years and as the Cavaliers' offensive coordinator his last season. Garrett, 48, was most recently the Tampa Bay receivers coach in 2013. He was part of Greg Schiano's staff that was let go after last season.
