"I would like to thank Bob De Carolis and the search committee for this great opportunity to join Oregon State University," Phelps said. "My wife and I are honored to become members of Beaver Nation and be part of the rich tradition of OSU Athletics. With all of the exciting capital projects and improvements taking place, and planned for the future, I look forward to getting started."

From 2002-2008 he held several titles at Brown University, the last three years as Assistant Athletic Director for Operations.

He is a 1995 graduate of Ithaca College in New York with a bachelor's of science degree in physical education.
