On Sunday, Oregon State and USC traded unearned runs early on. USC (29-24, 16-14) scored in the first on a sacrifice fly. The Beavers evened the score in the third when Michael Howard doubled and Jeff Hendrix scored from first after an errant throw by USC right fielder Omar Cotto Lozada.
The Trojans went up for good 2-1 in the fifth.
USC later added to its lead with a two-out RBI double.
Andrew Moore started for Oregon State and took the loss, dropping to 5-5 on the year. He allowed four hits and two runs – one earned – in 4 2/3 innings of work.
