An overcast day with the sun peaking through the clouds at times greeted Oregon
State for the opening of spring camp. RB Patrick Fuller rejoined
the team while Keith Robertson, Joe Halahuni
and Walker Vave among others practiced for the first time.
WR Anthony Brown dropped the "Wheat" in his last
name and will be just Anthony Brown.
As expected, DE Jeff Van Orsow and LG Jeremy Perry
sat out, but were on the sidelines instructing their teammates. WR Matt
Sieverson and WR Casey Kjos, as expected, also sat
out. TE Gabe Miller participated in some drills, but not the
scrimmages. LB Derrick Doggett (back spasms) and OT Roy
Schuening (hamstring) did not participate, but are expected back shortly.
Keenan Lewis, Bryan Payton and Keaton
Kristick all had interceptions, all thrown by Lyle Moevao.
OT Michael Cole was expected to be in spring camp, but will
not be in Corvallis until the fall.
Overall, the practice went very smooth for the first of the month.

“It was a good start today. With the number of returners we have we can
hit the ground running and somewhat make it look like football. We ended the
season with some momentum and we just need to utilize that and keep things going.”
