Buckingham looks for repeat OSU camp success

IN PREP FOOTBALL circles around the Beaver State, the news Sam Buckingham was transferring from Lake Oswego to Grant set tongues wagging this spring. Buckingham, however, says it's really much ado about nothing. Meanwhile on the recruiting front, things are a bit calmer, although that could change as the calendar turns to June. Grant will be one of the schools at Oregon State's summer youth camp.

Buckingham (5-11.5, 198, 4.6) was a backup last season, so it might seem out of place just how much chatter that developed about his transfer. But when he got his opportunities last season, he seized them. One paper said Buckingham's arrival at Grant could be a "crucial component to a probable championship-contending team."
