With 13 offers in hand, offensive lineman Nick Cody, 6-6.5, 290 is considering making a selection…
Trio on top for big NW hoss
"I really like the Oregon State coaches. Coach Cavanaugh was really fired up and that was pretty neat. I got a lot out of that," said Cody.
Cody has no plans for any other school camps at this point.
"We just started spring ball and we don't finish up school until June 25, we go down to Linfield when most schools have their padded camps so I'm not going to be able to get down to any of those," he said.
Distance won't come into play, Cody said.
"It's not a factor, my mom plans on moving out to wherever I go," said Cody.
CODY DID NOT attend the NIKE camp in Eugene but rather participated in a jamboree with his teammates on Saturday. He then attended the Oregon half-day camp yesterday.
"I love coach (Mike) Bellotti and coach (Steve) Greatwood, they'd be great to play for. They make you want to work hard. They both went really good, I learned a lot of good stuff from those coaches," said Cody.
WITH BRUSH PRAIRIE about 15 minutes from the Oregon state line, Cody said the two in-state schools, Washington and Washington State, aren't as high on his list as are the ones to the South.
"Washington, they just don't really fit what I'm looking for academically. And Washington State, I've been up to Pullman a few times, it's a pretty small town, and I'm not sure it's the right feel for me," he said.
The three schools recruiting the hardest are also the ones at the top of his list. A decision could come in the next month or two.
"That would be Oregon, Oregon State and Cal," said Cody. "I'm talking with my mom so hopefully within the next several weeks make some decisions."
