Reports: OSU finds their man

OREGON STATE has reportedly picked Brown's Craig Robinson to helm it's men’s basketball program. Brown was coming off a resurgent season, going 19-10 in 2007-08, and Robinson's 30 wins in his two seasons at Brown were the most in school history for any coach's first two years.

A formal announcement from OSU is reportedly scheduled for Tuesday after Robinson tours the school on Monday.

Robinson was known at Brown for an offensive system that relies on continual motion and reads. His team this past season averaged 48 percent from the field, 41 percent from 3-point land and a 75 percent free throw shooting percentage.

He was an assistant coach at Northwestern for six seasons before taking the Brown job in 2006. He played at Princeton from 1980-83, and was twice the Ivy league's Player of the Year.

After coaching in Europe and at the high school level, he earned his MBA in Finance and entered private business in 1990. He was a Vice President for Continental Bank from 1990-92, Vice President for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter from 1992-99, and then Managing Director for Loop Capital Markets before before returning to coaching at Northwestern in 2000.

Robinson is the brother-in-law of Barack Obama. His sister, Michelle, is married to the presidential candidate.
