WA defensive back rubs some dirt on it

OREGON STATE's SUMMER YOUTH CAMP gets underway tomorrow and runs through Monday. The camp plus the Beavs' one-day events in June have been crucial to OSU's gridiron success in recent years. One who could make his way to Corvallis this weekend is a 6-0, 175-pound defensive back out of Kent, Wash. And he's not letting a little thing like a fractured wrist get in his way.
Cody Arp
(6-0, 175, 4.49) of Kentlake High fractured his wrist earlier this month while practicing with his team. Two days later, he went down to Eugene for a football camp.
"I couldn't workout because the doctor hadn't cleared me yet, but it was still a good opportunity to see the campus and meet some of the coaches," says Arp.
That clearance has since been given.
"I am good to go. The trainers just wrap it up in a big pad so its safe for other players and me," said Arp, who is in a short cast.
ARP's CAMP PLANS
are still being formulated but if he is to make it to Corvallis, it will be in the Friday-Saturday range.
"Both of the Oregon schools sent me camp invites and I might try to squeeze in one or two days at either camp Friday or Saturday," said Arp. "Boise State has come on hard and I just got back from their camp (Wednesday night) and it went pretty good.
"I'm going to the UW camp Sunday. They've come on pretty strong too. They made a school visit last month. Regarding Washington State, one of their coaches made a school visit. I was also invited to their camp but I can't attend because I made a prior commitment to attend the UW camp, they are exactly the same dates. If I can make it out to Pullman later this month I will do that."
Arp is also hearing from Utah, Air Force and some smaller schools.
"But no offers yet, hopefully that will change after this camp circuit," said Arp.
