Oct. 7, 2006 - Washington State 13, Oregon State 6
Head coach Mike Riley points back to 2006's game as the
start to what concluded being the program’s second most successful season
at 10-4. The Beavers lost 13-6 to drop to 2-3 (0-2 in Pac-10), but they would
lose only once more during the season.
Cougar QB Alex
Brink had 270 yards passing, but was sacked five times. WSU did OSU
one better by sacking Beaver QB Matt Moore six times. The only
touchdown of the game came in the third quarter when Brink, who passed for a
Reser Stadium record 531 yards in 2005, connected with Jason Hill
on a 29-yard touchdown pass

Oct. 4, 2008 in Pasadena - UCLA 28, Washington State 3
MANY, MANY YEARS ago, when I worked at a newspaper in Oregon, a magnetic Oregon

joint grabbed the calendar and began predicting the season outcome by writing
“W” or “L” in ink by each game. And a few “MVs.”

IT REALLY FELT like it would be enough. An eight point lead, with the way the
Beaver defense was playing and 2:11 left on the clock? The Beaver Nation could
just about taste the victory. But Utah went 80 years in a heartbeat, got new
life when a penalty was called on the two point conversion, and then nailed
the game winning field goal with no time left on the clock.
The Beaver defense,
featuring a cadre of personnel, performed admirably, and Lyle Moevao,
who threw for over 300 yards, was money in crunch time. Alas, it all slipped
away in the final moments ... more
