LYLE MOEVAO looks to be the man lining up under center for the Beavs when Oregon State takes the field Saturday against Cal in a critical Pac-10 showdown. After a week of practice where the issue remained in question between Moevao and Sean Canfield, Mike Riley was quoted Thursday night as saying Moevao had shown his injured shoulder to be healed enough: "I'm pretty sure he'll start," says Riley.
Unless something unforeseen, like more unexpected pain, occurs between now and early Saturday afternoon when the Beavs meet up with Cal,
Lyle Moevao
will get the start according to a report Thursday night in the Oregonian. Moevao sat out last week at UCLA after injuring his shoulder the week prior.
Moevao took the majority of the snaps in Thursday's practice.
Sean Canfield
is 35-for-50 for 440 yards with four touchdowns and two picks since taking over after Moevao was hurt in the early second quarter Nov. 1 against ASU.
Moevao, despite missing nearly two full games, remains firmly slotted among the leading passers in the Pac-10 in most categories. On the season, Moevao is 152-for-240 passing for 1,822 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
