Lewis and Levitre will play in Senior Bowl

IN ONE OF the traditional early barometers on potential NFL Draft prospects, two Beavers -- left tackle Andy Levitre and cornerback Keenan Lewis -- have each accepted invitations to the Senior Bowl.

Andy Levitre, a co-captain for the Beavers who earned first team All-America honors by the American Football Coaches Association, anchored an Oregon State offensive line that has surrendered just 16 sacks entering Wednesday's Sun Bowl.

Levitre was also a second team Associated Press All-American and first team All-Pac-10 selection. A versatile cog in the OSU machinery, he's manned every position on the line except center, including tight end, during his Oregon State career.

Keenan Lewis, a 6-1, 196 pound lockdown corner, had 31 tackles on the season to go along with three interceptions -- and eight pass break-ups.

Lewis is also a three time first team Pac-10 All-Academic selection.

Kickoff for the 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl is slated for 3 p.m. PT on January 24th in Mobile at the Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game will be televised by the NFL Network. The event has historically provided one of the insights on early NFL thinking on prospects for the league's annual draft held in April. Other key events include a school's pro-day, personal workout days, and the NFL Combine.
