Although Tramaine Thompson was committed to Oregon State, he decided to still take a trip to…
Thompson flips for Big 12 school
"They wished me the best and they understood, everything was cool," said Thompson.
Thompson, out of Jenks, Oklahoma, said the closeness of K-State "was a plus" but wasn't the deciding factor in his decision.
Thompson said back in August that the Beavs told him they were offering him in part because of his ability to change direction and make moves out in space, and K-State and Bill Snyder this weekend mentioned the same.
"Coach (Bill) Snyder is a really impressive guy, they have a great coaching staff coming in and they're going to get the program turned around really quick, I heard some great things coming out of there this weekend that seem like they'd be a fit for me."
The decommitment leaves Oregon State's list of known verbals at 20, including one soft verbal. The Beavs are not expected to have room for a full class of 25 but it is espected to be close to that number. OSU has made a habit in recent years of oversigning and grayshirting, a process where the recruit signs in February but delays enrollment until January.
