Spring position changes for pair of Beavs

GABE MILLER

OREGON STATE HAS released their spring roster and two notable changes of position are present. Junior Gabe Miller is no longer listed at tight end and sophomore Will Darkins is not among the stable of linebackers.

Oregon State junior Gabe Miller has been moved from tight end to defensive end for spring camp.

Miller did not catch a pass in 2008 after grabbing eight catches for 124 yards and one touchdown in 2007.

As a senior at Lake Oswego he was named the 4A Defensive Player of the Year as a linebacker.

The Beavs now have six tight ends on the roster, and just six defensive ends including Miller with three more incoming freshman set to join the DE ranks this summer.

Meanwhile, Oregon State sophomore Will Darkins has been moved from middle linebacker to running back for spring ball.

Darkins was a first team all-state selection at running back at Lake Oswego as a senior after piling up 1,148 yards.

The 6-foot-1, 224-pounder was seemingly moved due to Jeremy Francis' potential return remaining up in the air. Francis left the team to be with his ailing mother. For the entire listing, head to:
