The 2010 non-conference
schedule also includes a home tilt with Louisville on Sept. 18 and one to
be named opponent.
Oregon State holds a 4-2 lead in the BSU/OSU series, but the teams have split
the last four matchups with the home team winning each clash.
The last time OSU and BSU met was in September of 2006 when the Broncos won
42-14.
The Beavs jumped out to a 14-0 lead in Bronco Stadium after Matt Moore
hit Joe Newton on a 3-yard touchdown pass to cap an 85-yard
opening drive. The score was setup on a fake punt when punter Kyle Loomis
found Daniel Drayton for a 27-yard reception to keep the drive
alive.
After the Black and Orange defense forced a three and out, Sammie Stroughter
fielded a punt in Beaver territory, ripped through three Bronco defenders
at midfield and raced 64-yards for a touchdown.
But then it was Blue and Orange from then on out.
Boise State ripped off 42 unanswered points as running back Ian Johnson
slammed his way to 240 yards and five touchdowns on 22 carries.
It has been a different story in Corvallis though as BSU has yet to win in
Reser Stadium although the last two games have been nail biters.
In 2003 OSU snapped Boise
State's 13-game winning streak as the Beaver offense churned out 562 yards,
but it took a clock eating drive at the end of the game to seal the victory.
With a two point lead and the ball with 7:32 left the offense converted four
first downs, including a controversial quarterback sneak on fourth and short
with 1:45 remaining, to preserve the win.
The 2005 clash was another great matchup with kicker Alexis Serna hitting a game winning 29-yard field goal with 1:03 remaining for
the 30-27 win.
