TEN PREFERRED FRESHMAN WALK-ONS are completing their third week in Oregon State's bridge program -- Next up, the 10 will join the Beavers for fall camp beginning this Sunday. Four of the 10 are from Oregon, two from Washington, two from California and one each from Canada and Hawaii. One is is the son of a former Oregon State center and another's dad played in Winnipeg for OSU head man Mike Riley.
The NCAA limits the number of players a school can field to start fall camp at 105. That means with an incoming recruiting class in the fold and a school at or close to the 85 scholarship limit, around 20 total walk-ons are allowed at the outset of the fall camp.
Rosters expand when school starts, and more walk-ons will be added. The 10 preferred freshman walk-ons who have joined the Beavers are:
DE
Tom Black
(Winnipeg, Manitoba/Oak Park High)
OL
Aaron Magnuson
(Albany, Ore./West Albany HS)
TE/LB
Devon Kell
(Hilo, Hawai’i/Hilo HS)
LS
Tyler Bills
(Mission Viejo, Calif/Mission Viejo HS)
WR
Garett Hall
(Olympia, Wash./Olympia HS)
DE
Travis Horton
(Tigard, Ore./Tigard HS)
S
Levi Levasa
(Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin HS)
RB
Dylan Parsons
(Olympia, Wash./Olympia HS)
WR
Mitch Singler
(Medford, Ore./South Medford HS)
LB
Reggie Williams
(Rialto, Calif./Rialto HS)
Bills is a long snapper with two years experience at Mission Viejo. He earned first team all-South Coast Conference as a senior ... Black is a defensive end prospect from Canada. His father, Dave, played professionally in Winnipeg for OSU head coach
Mike Riley
.
Hall was a three-year starting receiver at Olympia High and twice earned all-Narrows League honors ... Horton is a defensive end from Tigard who earned first team all-Pacific Conference at defensive end and as an offensive tackle.
Kell played quarterback at Hilo before earning all-Big Island Federation first team at defensive end. Levasa, a safety prospect from Tualatin, is the son of former Oregon State center Roger Levasa (1978-81). Levasa played as a dual purpose quarterback in high school.
Magnuson is a massive offensive lineman from Albany. He helped West Albany HS to consecutive 5A state championships as a junior and senior. Parsons was a three-year starter at running back at Olympia earning first team all-Narrows League as a senior.
Singler is a three-year starter at receiver at South Medford. He earned first team all-state as a senior after setting school records for receptions and receiving yards. His cousin, Kyle, plays basketball at Duke ... Williams was a two-year starter at defensive end and earned all-Citrus Belt League honors as a senior.
NOTABLE NOTES:

Of the remaining names on the official OSU roster without a jersey number assigned, all but one have previously been reported to be delaying enrollment and joining the Beavs in January. The one who has not is
Kyrell Hudson
, who was selected by the Phillies in the summer's MLB Draft. Hudson has not returned phone calls since June but is thought to be in final negotiations with Philadelphia prior to signing a pro contract and appears to be leaning towards eschewing a college education at Oregon State with the opportunity to play both football and baseball for the Beavs. Hudson has been in Seattle the past few days, playing in the Senior Babe Ruth Pacific Northwest Regional tournament. Hudson was a combined 4 for 6 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs in two games this past weekend.
