The 2009 tilt between UCLA
and Oregon State marks the fourth straight time the Beavers have been favored
to win. In the last
10 matchups between the Bruins and Beavers pronosticagors have favored OSU five
times and UCLA five times.
Despite the predicted victor
being split, the Beavs have struggled defeating UCLA as the Bruins a 39-14-4
advantage, including 12-7-1 in Corvallis, and have won seven of the last ten.
OSU's two wins this decade vs. the Bruins (also won in 2000 in L.A.) are the
fewest against any other Pac-10 team (did not play in 2003 and '04). OSU is
also trying to break a three-game home losing streak to UCLA in which it has
given up a combined 121 points.
Even head coach Mike Riley has had issues with the Bruins, breaking a personal
10-game skid to the powdered blue club - 0-5 at OSU (previous to last year),
0-4 at USC as offensive coordinator and 0-1 at California while a graduate assistant
in 1975.
The Beavers are 3-3 against
the spread this season beating the spread in their last three games.
