POLL: Biggest Civil War ever?

THE WINNER of this year’s Civil War goes to the Rose Bowl. Does it get bigger than that? The 2000 version of the game between Oregon State and Oregon may beg to differ when comparing wins and rankings. And so it leads us to ask you the question..
Is this the biggest Civil War ever?
In 2000, the Ducks and Beavs were ranked Nos. 5 and 8 in the nation in the AP poll, respectively.
This year, if there’s no further movement between now and next Thursday, the Beavs will enter the game ranked No. 16, 18 (AP, Coaches') while the Ducks are ranked No. 10.
But in 2009, it’s clear cut – win and you’re Pasadena bound.
In 2000, only one team held that advantage, Oregon. The Beavs still needed help after they beat Oregon 23-13, requiring a UW loss to go to the Rose Bowl, and they didn’t get it.
What about the win-loss records? In 2000, the Beavs entered the Civil War at 9-1, (6-1 Pac-10). Oregon also 9-1, (7-0). (
Note: The Pac-10 record for the Ducks has been corrected to 7-0)
In 2009, the Beavs stand at 8-3, (6-2) while the Ducks enter with a mark of 9-2, (7-1).
So what’s the verdict?
