HOOPS: Beavs improve to 4-3

G SETH TARVER tied the single-game school record with eight steals as the Beavers beat Cal State Bakersfield 74-39 for their third consecutive win.

GAME RECAP

The Beavers climbed over .500 for the first time this season blowing out Cal State Bakersfield 74-39 in front of 4,927 in Gill Coliseum. It was the Beavers third win in a row.

Freshmen F Joe Burton and G Jared Cunningham chipped in with 13 points a piece on a combined 8 of 10 shooting.

G Seth Tarver tied the Oregon State single-game steal record with eight steals. His brother, Josh, hit 6 of 7 from the field for 12 points. Box Score

 

GAME NOTES
  • OSU scored 22 points off of turnovers

  • 46 of OSU's 74 points came in the paint

  • The Beavers limited CS Bakersfield to just 15 points in the second half and just 27.8% from the field for the entire game

  • Oregon State trailed only once, at 18-17

  • OSU has hit 36 of 40 free throws in the last three halves of play
