- Stroughter ready to be "the man" in Tampa Bay
Former Oregon State receiver Sammie Stroughter (2004-08)
told the St. Petersburg Times he is ready to be the Buccaneers No. 1
receiver in 2010.
"I'm going into the
voluntary workout like I'm the man — period, point blank," Stroughter said.
"Whatever role I have, I'm going to be the best, being the team's No. 1."
Also, the Sports
Network pegged Stroughter as one of seven players to watch in the NFL
stating, "The former Oregon State Beaver has prime NFL potential, especially
catching passes on a team that seems to have no identity at wide receiver
year in and year out."

- Bernard meets half brother in Haiti
Former Oregon State running back Yvenson Bernard (2004-07)
traveled to Haiti to meet his half-brother and give Hope for Haiti the
$10,000 he raised before leaving for Port-au-Prince.
Bernard was raised
in Florida by Haitian parents. He left Corvallis as the school's second
all-time leading rusher with 3,862 career yards.
Currently Bernard
is in his second season with the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. As a rookie
he rushed for 336 yards on 53 carries as a backup.

- Johnson is +1200 to win Dancing with the Stars
Former Oregon State wide receiver Chad Johnson (2000)
is a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
Betus.com put Johnson at +1200 to win the competition.

- Grim inducted into NCSA Hall of Fame
Former Oregon State wide receiver Bob Grim (1964-66) was
inducted into the Northern California Sports Association Hall of Fame recently.
Grim played for Red
Bluff High in Red Bluff, CA. He was co-captain of the 1966 Oregon
State football team and was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame
in 1990.
The California native
played 10 yards in the NFL earning a Pro Bowl appearance in 1971 with
the Minnesota Vikings.

- Osia Lewis hired at Colonials secondary coach
Former Oregon State linebacker Osia Lewis (1982-85) has been hired
as the Hartford Colonials (of the United Football League) secondary coach.
Lewis was a four-year letterman and a standout linebacker at Oregon State
from 1982-85. He also played quarterback, safety and wide receiver for the
Beavers. As
a senior in 1985, he was named the team's Most Inspirational Player, served
as team captain and earned All-Pac-10 and honorable mention All-America
honors by the Associated Press. Lewis still holds school records for single-season
defensive points, season fumble recoveries (four) and career fumble recoveries
(eight).

- Anderson signs two year deal with Arizona
Former Oregon State quarterback Derek Anderson (2001-04)
has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The two year deal is worth
$7.25 million.
Anderson will compete with former USC star Matt Lienart for the
starting quarterbacking duties.

- Edwards signs with Bills
Former Oregon State defensive tackle Dwan Edwards (2000-03)
signed with the Buffalo Bills.
He spent the last
six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens where he tallied 119 tackles, two
sacks and one interception in 56 games.
Edwards joins former
Beaver linebacker Keith Ellison in Buffalo.

3/13 - Koeper passes away
Former Oregon State offensive lineman and assistant coach Rich
Koeper (1962-65) passed away at age 66.
Koeper, a second
team All-American by the Associated Press his senior year, played in the
1962 Liberty Bowl, the 1964 Hula Bowl and was a member of Oregon State's
last Rose Bowl team in 1965.

- Booth suiting up Tri-Cities; IFL news
Former Oregon State defensive tackle Pernell Booth (2005-08)
is currently a rookie offensive lineman for the Tri-Cities Fever of the
Indoor Football League.
Former OSU offensive
lineman Tavita Thompson (2005-08) is also on the Fever
roster.
Former Beaver QB Terrance
Bryant (1998-99) is entering his eighth season in the IFL. During
his ILF career he has thrown for more than 20,000 yards and 416 touchdowns.

- Moore named starter
Former Oregon State quarterback Matt
Moore (2005-06) singed a one year, $3.043 million tender
with the NFL's Carolina Panthers.
Moore was also named
the Panther's starting quarterback heading into training camp.
The 25-year old completed
85 of 138 passes (61.6%) for 1,053 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions
while going 4-1 as a starter last season.

- Anderson cut by Browns
Former Oregon State quarterback Derek Anderson (2001-04)
has been cut by the NFL's Cleveland Browns.
Anderson had a rough
2009 for the Browns. In eight games he completed 81 of 182 passes (44.5%)
for three touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
He is expected to
sign with another team shortly though.
