The green arrow means the coaches have talked favorably about the player to the press or the individual has performed well.  A sideways means...  A down arrow means the player has suffered an injury, an off the field incident or is not performing up to standards.

 

Quarterbacks

  • So. Ryan Katz (6-1, 209) - this is his third spring with the Beavs -- he graduated early from high school in 2008...excellent arm strength...has put in lots of time studying the playbook...played in four games in 2009 completing 14 of 27 passes (51.9%) for 232 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions...first career touchdown pass was a 31-yarder to Damola Adeniji in the Las Vegas Bowl...already taking a leadership role...just needs to get rid of the ball quicker, which means he has a better of the offense...needs to control his arm and not try to rifle every throw
     
  • Jr. Peter Lalich (6-4, 222) - sat out last year after transferring from the University of Virginia...had two career starts at Virginia where he completed 39 of 74 (52%) passes for 359 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions...still petitioning the NCAA to have another year of eligibility...has a fluid throwing motion...pouted when he arrived on campus, but got his head on straight during the season
     
  • RFr. Cody Vaz (6-0, 200) - split time with Lomax running the scout teams in 2009, will battle for No. 3 spot...a pocket passer with a nice, tight spiral...a quick release...many observers say he has a "live arm"...added 19 pounds since arriving in Corvallis
     
  • RFr. Jack Lomax (6-2, 175) - split time with Vaz running the scout teams last year, will battle for No. 3 spot...gets rid of the ball quickly...smart and has the feet to scramble...has improved arm strength significantly, but still needs to add muscle...added 15 pounds since '09

 

 

Running Backs

RB:

  • Jr. Jacquizz Rodgers (5-7, 188) - a 2010 Heisman Trophy candidate...nicknamed "The Money" because of his worth to the team, also goes by Quizz...a well rounded player who can block, catch and run equally as well...competed in the UW Last Chance Meet in the 60-meter dash checking in at 7.24...first team all-conference in 2010...23 career starts, 13 straight...tied a school record for the most points for a season by a Beaver with 132...his 22 total touchdowns, (21 rushing) tied for third in the nation...fourth at OSU with 2,693 career rushing yards...school record holder for single season rushing touchdowns 21...Associated Press third team All-American...the fifth player in school history to post multiple 1,000 yard rushing seasons...named the fourth best player in the Pac-10 by Ted Miller of ESPN.com
  • So. Jovan Stevenson (5-11, 183) - one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...ran for 138 yards and one touchdown on 26 carries (5.3 ypc), caught five passes for 59 yards...only tackled once for loss of yardage...solid hands...hits the hole quickly...needs to work on his blocking to become a well rounded back...good cutting ability in traffic
     
  • Sr. Ryan McCants (6-1, 229) - played in four games in 2009 after coming off of knee surgery he suffered in the spring...carried the ball just six times for 26 yards...three career starts...for his career he has 91 carries for 363 yards (3.8 ypc) and two touchdowns with a long of 35 yards, seven receptions for 34 yards...needs to run with authority and purpose if he wants playing time...sometimes runs too upright

  • So. Jordan Jenkins (6-1, 211) - Riley said in spring of 2010, "He has come on and worked hard. I can see him moving up the depth chart.”...named offensive scout MVP after the 2008 and 2009 seasons...had a strong showing last spring and fall...a powerful runner...could see his time increase due to lack of depth at running back...played in nine games last year carrying the ball two times for six yards...Riley said in March of '09, "“He has come on and worked hard. I can see him moving up the depth chart.”

 

FB:
 

  • Sr. Will Darkins (6-1, 230) - three career starts...used exclusively as a blocker in 2009 as he did not get one carry...started two of the last three games of the season...had a good offseason in the weight room according to strength coach Bryan Miller...Riley said he will use the fullback more in 2010
  • So. Clayton York (6-0, 223) - has added 16 pounds since arriving on campus in fall of 2008...did not carry the ball during the regular season last year...played on special teams making one tackle...lining at fullback
  • RFr. Dylan Parsons (5-9, 202) - backup to Darkins at fullback...blue collared, hard nosed runner...did not carry the ball during the regular season last year
     
  • Jr. Josh Parish (5-11, 225) - has been on the roster since fall of 2007...faces an uphill battle for playing time...a regular on the scout teams...did not carry the ball during the regular season last year

 

 

Offensive Lineman

OFFENSIVE TACKLE

  • Jr. Mike Remmers (6-4, 305) - one of the most experienced players on the offensive line...considered the team's top pass blocker...former walk-on who earned a scholarship before the 2009 season...20 starts, 13 straight...one of the leaders on offense...athletic...Cavanaugh wants him to more aggressive and "bury" the defenders...named the team's most improved player on offense following the 2008 season
     
  • Sr. Timi Oshinowo (6-6, 288) - if healthy will push for playing time...made a huge leap in development last year before hurting his knee in the spring and missing all of the 2009 season...dropped 20 pounds from 2008 to spring practice of 2009...Cavanaugh says his "feet and pass sets have improved dramatically"...a very hard worker...needs to be more consistent and use his length more effectively
     
  • Sr. Wilder McAndrews (6-4, 282) - awarded a scholarship in summer of 2009 after walking on in 2007...Cavanaugh says he has all the tools one looks for in an offensive lineman...coaches love that he is mobile and athletic...reportedly was going to retire from football due to recurring injuries, but is giving it one last shot
     
  • So. Geoff Garner (6-6, 301) - one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...could redshirt this season...one of the most physically imposing players who is working hard to drop his body fat percentage and add muscle...smart and athletic...a student of the game
     
  • So. Michael Philipp (6-3, 307) - named one of the most improved players on the team following the 2009 season...coach Cavanaugh calls Philipp, "phenomenal"...became the first true freshman offensive lineman to start a game at Oregon State since 1997...one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...named to CollegeFootballNews.com and Phil Steele’s All-Freshman first team...13 game starter...great feet and balance...smart; picks up things quickly...Cavanaugh compares him to Andy Levitre...an Outland Trophy candidate
     
  • RFr. Grant Enger (6-5, 256) - expected to compete for a backup position...a big frame with plenty of room to grow...can change direction quickly for a big man...redshirted last year...added over 20 pounds during his redshirt year...still needs to add 30 more pounds before playing

 

CENTER
  • Sr. Alex Linnenkohl (6-2, 303) - a fierce competitor...nickname is The Tasmanian Devil...honorable mention all-Pac-10 honors in 2008 and 2009...26 consecutive starts, the most on the team...one of the leaders on offense...Cavanaugh says he can be as good as he wants to be...close to being a dominate center, just needs a little tweaking in regards to his calls and command of the offense...looking for a big leap and Pac-10 honors as a senior...added around six pounds to his frame, but still kept his mobility since end of '09
     
  • RFr. Josh Andrews (6-2, 278) - named MVP of the offensive scout teams...expected to compete for a backup position...smart and agile...very athletic...redshirted in '09
  • RFr. Aaron Magnuson (6-3, 308) - one of the larger players on the team tipping the scales at 307...still needs a year or so in the system before contributing...walked on in 2009 and redshirted...moved from guard to center in spring of 2010

 

OFFENSIVE GUARD
  • Sr. Ryan Pohl (6-3, 284) - the enigma of the offensive line...two starts...beat out last year by Johnson for left guard...listed as the backup center on the two deeps...has played every position on the line...keeps getting beat out for a starting position
     
  • Jr. Grant Johnson (6-3, 280) - named one of the most improved players on the team following the 2009 season...13 game starter last year at left guard...has played every position on the offensive line - started out as backup center before being moved to guard...recently awarded a scholarship in March of 2010...will miss spring practice due to shoulder surgery...Cavanaugh says he is "smart, athletic and tough"...excels at pulling...one of the most consistent players on the o-line last year
  • So. Colin Kelly (6-4, 285) - played with first team offense in spring ball last year, but didn't stick...will compete for a backup spot...very athletic with good feet, power and balance...not picking up things as quickly as the coaches would like him to...moved from tackle to guard in spring of 2010
     
  • RFr. Tyler Thomas (6-2, 301) - with the depth chart wide open Thomas could make a push into the two deeps..."explosive" according to Cavanaugh...a wrester in high school...redshirted last year...added over 10 pounds during his redshirt season
     
  • Jr. Burke Ellis (6-4, 280) - a walk on who is a top candidate to earn a scholarship...expected to compete for a starting spot...could make a leap into the two deeps...needs to add some strength...also played tackle...added 12 pounds during the season
  • So. Colin Lyons (6-3, 275) - very strong and good push...could slide up the depth chart with a good showing in the spring...dropped 20 pounds from last year to this year
  • So. Rory Ross (6-3, 278) - has done a good job of adding weight...needs to refine mechanics before getting any playing time...had right knee surgery in Dec. of 2009...will miss spring practice
     
  • Jr. Michael Lamb (6-3, 282) - slowed by a knee injury in the spring last year...expected to compete for starting spot...a walk on who is a top candidate to earn a scholarship...explosive with balance and power...was the starter heading into spring practice a year ago
     
  • Fr. Michael Beaton (6-2, 284) - grayshirt who enrolled in spring of 2010...honorable mention all-state offensive and defensive lineman as Dallas High as a senior...aggressive and loves to get into this secondary blocks

 

Receivers

WR:

  • Sr. Darrell Catchings (5-11, 164) - 10 career starts...played in just two games last year grabbing two passes for 24 yards...slowed down with a high ankle sprain and wrist injury in fall camp of 2009...granted an extra year of eligibility in March of 2010...needs to add 10 or so pounds to get to playing weight...will split time with Wheaton as the starter...dominated the spring and fall camps of 2009 before getting injured
  • So. Markus Wheaton (6-0, 178) - will split time with Catchings as the starter...coaches like to use him on the fly sweep to get him into open space where he can use his speed and elusiveness...Riley sees him more of a Sammie Stroughter type player than a James Rodgers type player...competed in the UW Last Chance Meet in the 60-meter dash checking in at 6.82 - the fastest time by a football player this year...one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...one start...slowed down due to clearing house issues in fall of 2009...caught eight passes for 89 yards; carried the ball 11 times for 84 yards and one touchdown...excellent change of direction...a natural athlete...Riley compares Wheaton to former USC star R. Jay Soward...added 13 pounds since arriving on campus
  • So. Geno Munoz (6-0, 193) - Riley said in spring of 2010, "Geno is at the point of his career he has to step up and compete. He has a lot of ability"...a solid performer on the scout team who figures to get more playing time this season...did not record a catch last year
     
  • Fr. Obum Gwacham (6-5, 218) - won the men's high jump at the 2010 Oregon Preview track meet clearing 7 feet 1 3/4 inch...growing by leaps and bounds...very coachable...competed in the UW Last Chance Meet in March clearing 7' 1 1/2" becoming the ninth Beaver to clear 7', also participated in the Husky Indoor Classic...a grayshirt who enrolled in Jan. of 2010...expected to redshirt, but could see time on the edge to block PATs and field goals...already added 11 pounds

SL:

  • So. Jordan Bishop (6-3, 199) - four starts...athletic, big target who isn't afraid to go across the middle...competed in the Husky Indoor Classic in February clearing 7' 1/2" becoming the eighth Beaver to clear 7', also participated in the UW Last Chance Meet...could have a breakout year...caught 14 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown...named one the team's scout team MVPs on offense after the 2008 season
  • Sr. Aaron Nichols (6-0, 185) - a walk on who is a top candidate to earn a scholarship...catches everything thrown his way...a disciplined route runner...caught 11 passes for 178 yards and one touchdown in 2009...expected to push Bishop for playing time...Riley said in spring of 2010, "Every time he goes into the game he makes a play. He’s one of the most reliable people we have.’’
     
  • So. Kevan Walker (6-0, 200) - practicing with the men's track team, but hasn't competed in a track event yet...with Casey Kjos quitting football Walker jumped into the two deeps...expected to make an impact in his third year in the system...one catch for 16 yards last year...a versatile athlete who worked out with the cornerbacks as a freshman...Riley said in spring of 2010, "He has a lot of ability and it’s time for him to step up."
  • RFr. Mitch Singler (6-2, 196) - walked on and redshirted last season...he will play before its over, Riley says...just knows how to get open and catch the pigskin

TE:

  • Sr. John Reese (6-3, 247) - graduated in Dec. of 2009 with a degree in speech communication...has yet to realize his potential, but is poised to have a breakout season after redshirting last year...10 career catches for 109 yards...lines up at H-back
     
  • Sr. Brady Camp (6-4, 265) - 18 starts, 14 straight...one of the better blockers on the team...a big target in the red zone...loves to get down and dirty...one of the more underrated players on the squad...snagged five passes for 40 yards and two touchdowns
     
  • Jr. Joe Halahuni (6-2, 252) - two starts...great hands and athleticism..26 passes caught in the last seven games...nine catches at USC is the most ever by an OSU tight end...surpassed the 100-yard mark twice - a feat former Beaver great Joe Newton never accomplished...grabbed 35 passes for 486 yards and three touchdowns...naturally strong and athletic...runs with authority, after the catch he is looking to punish a defender...lines up at H-back
     
  • So. Colby Prince (6-3 ,265) - long, athletic and rangy...turned in a great fall practice last year...will be in the rotation...good speed...has added 17 pounds since coming to Corvallis

WR:

  • Sr. James Rodgers (5-7, 188) - a 2010 Biletnikoff Award Candidate....given Lunch Bucket Award after 2009 season, given annually to the player(s) who demonstrate outstanding work ethic...competed in the Husky Indoor Classic and the UW Last Chance meet running in the 60-meter dash posting top 20 times...first team all-Pac-10 pick in 2010...has started in 26 games, 13 straight...ranked first in the Pac-10 and seventh in the nation at 179.1 all-purpose yards per game...school record holder for single season all-purpose yards with 2,328...had a school record 303 all-purposed yards against Oregon in 2009...led the Pac-10 in receptions for game (7.0)...set a school record for receptions in a season with 91...second Beaver in school history to amass 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in his career...second team Associated Press All-American all-purpose player...second player in school history to accumulate 5,000 all-purpose yards...has 5,077 career all-purpose yards, the third most in the nation for returning players
     
  • RFr. Micah Hatfield (6-0, 162) - Riley confident he will contribute, but down the road...still needs to add 20 pounds before seeing the field...broke his leg in October, but will participate in spring practice...has added 10 pounds since arriving on campus, but needs to 10-15 more pounds
     
  • RFr. Garett Halll (5-8, 198) - the next Taylor Kavanaugh according to Riley...walked on last year and redshirted...also a talented baseball player at Olympia High
  • Fr. Kevin Cummings (6-0, 168) - picking up things quickly...grayshirt who enrolled in Jan. of 2010...played for USA Football's 2009 Junior National Team earning a gold medal...high school teammate of current Beavers Ryan Katz and Cameron Collins

 

Defensive Lineman

DE:

  • Sr. Gabe Miller (6-3, 249) - recently ran the fastest 10-yard dash on the entire team...12 career starts, five straight...took over starting duties at Cal on 11/7...had a good offseason in the weight room according to strength coach Bryan Miller...made a co-team high three sacks last year...tallied 23 tackles, including five for loss, the fourth most out of the returning players...added 10 pounds since the end of the '09 season
     
  • So. Andrew Seumalo (6-3, 262) - the son of defensive line coach Joe Seumalo...walked on in 2008 and redshirted...did not record a statistic last year...coaches like his speed and work ethic
     
  • RFr. Devon Kell (6-3, 228) - redshirted last year...walked on in 2009...played high school football in Hawaii at Hilo High...added 15 pounds in the off season...Riley says he fits the mold of a quick step player off the end
     
  • RFr. Mana Rosa (6-3, 250) - will miss spring ball after having shoulder surgery...explosive first step...would have competed for a starting spot if healthy...needed desperately to help fill out the two deeps...redshirted in 2009

DT:

  • Sr. Stephen Paea (6-1, 311) - 2009 Morris Trophy winner...25 starts, 14 straight...a first team all-conference selection in '09...forced four fumbles in 09, tying a school record...led the team with 8.5 tackles for loss, also chipped in 43 tackles, the most out of the defensive linemen...a co-team captain last year and one of the leaders on defense...strongest player on the team...low center of gravity and powerful legs, but lightning quick as well...most likely a first round NFL draft pick...pumped out 44 reps on bench press at 225 pounds...No. 3 all-time at OSU for sacks with 19.5...an Outland Trophy candidate...Riley said in spring of 2010, “Stephen is a great player. He creates a lot of havoc with his strength that forces double teams and enables his teammates to make plays. He is one of the best tackles I have coached at any level.”
     
  • So. Castro Masaniai (6-2, 311) - the only underclassmen defensive tackle with a scholarship...played in nine games last year making four tackles, including one for loss...team needs him to elevate his game in 2010...specializes in clogging up the middle
     
  • Jr. Ben Motter (6-5, 288) - had a good offseason improving his strength and mobility...moved from the offensive line to the defensive line in 2010...coaches expect him to make a smooth transistion to DT and push for playing time, similar to what Slade Norris did...walked on in 2007 from Philomath High

  • Sr. Nathan Hannah (6-3, 277) - longtime walk on who faces an uphill battle for playing time...moved from offensive to defensive line in spring of 2010

DT:

  • Sr. Brennan Olander (6-1, 276) - 10 starts, nine straight...took over starting duties at Arizona State on 10/3 giving the defensive line a much needed boost...earned a scholarship in summer of 2009...second on the team with 8.0 tackles for loss, also had 28 tackles...one of the most underrated players on the team...has battled various nagging injuries throughout his career...a former wrestler...a good blend of size and quickness

  • Jr. Kevin Frahm (6-2, 267) - moved to defensive tackle from defensive end in spring of 2010...eight career starts, all at defensive end...started out 2009 as the starter, but replaced by LaGrone on 11/7...a bull rusher with great strength...19 tackles, 2.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks in 2009
     
  • Jr. I'amafana Tuimalealiifano (6-1, 269) - has struggled with injuries throughout his collegiate career slowing his development...did not record a statistic last season...undersized for a defensive tackle...enters 2010 spring camp the most healthy he has been in two years
     
  • Sr. Evan Hull (6-4, 276) - walk on who has played on and off the last two seasons...faces an uphill battle for playing time

DE:

  • Sr. Matt LaGrone (6-6, 255) - took some time off in the 2010 winter to take care of personal business...four career starts...took over starting duties at Cal on 11/7...good length and height...just inches away from making several big plays last season...28 tackles, four for loss, .5 of a sack and two recovered fumbles in '09...older brother of safety Josh LaGrone...named one the team's scout team MVPs on defense after the 2008 season
     
  • So. Taylor Henry (6-1, 240) - may start spring pratice atop the depth chart...speed rusher, third down specialist...eight tackles, 2.0 for loss and one sack in 2009...mostly ineffective last season, but should be more effective after a year of experience...added 12 pounds between end of 2009 season and 2010 spring practice...if he adds more weight could become an everydown player
     
  • RFr. John Braun (6-5, 256) - moved from offensive to defensive line in spring of 2010...another big framed individual who has packed on muscle nicely...mobile and quick...redshirted in 2010

  • Sr. Mitchel Hunt (6-2, 287) - one career start...has been injured every year in Corvallis...may be out for the year with a knee injury...played in seven games last year making two tackles...moved from defensive tackle to defensive end in spring of 2010

 

Linebackers

OLB:

  • Sr. Keith Pankey (6-0, 231) - will miss spring practice after tearing his Achilles heal...optimistically will be back in July, but could be out for the year...could redshirt as he played as a true freshman...honorable mention all-conference last year...13 career starts...one of the vocal leaders on defense...44 tackles, including 4.5 for loss...one of the vocal leaders of the defense....good speed and active
     
  • So. Devin Unga (6-1, 219) - Riley said in spring of 2010, "The Ungas are great football players. If they can take that into a scheme, team defense they are both candidates to start”...great football instincts, physical, strong, only getting better...one half of The Smash Brothers, the nickname for the Unga twins for how they blow up the wedge on kickoffs...one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...made 12 tackles in '09...will practice with the first string defense in spring of 2010
     
  • Sr. Keo Camat (6-2, 238) - Riley has singled out Camat a few times, but the Oregonian has yet to produce...made 16 tackles, including one sack, in 2009...added 12 pounds in the off season
     
  • Jr. Paul Jones (6-2, 209) - long time walk on who faces an uphill battle for playing time...did not participate in last spring practice due to a knee injury
     

MLB:

  • So. Tony Wilson (6-1, 231) - Riley said in spring of 2010, “Tony Wilson is going to be a really good player. We’ve had thought highly of him for a really long time. He’s just one of our hardest working players. He worked hard to get in great shape"...missed most of 2009 after injuring his right knee and having surgery...worked very hard and played on special teams in the Las Vegas Bowl...coaches are very excited about his potential...quick and smart...a standout scout team player in 2008...runs the 40 in the 4.5 range
     
  • So. Rueben Robinson (6-1, 222) - can play inside or outside, built like an outside linebacker...played almost the entire Las Vegas Bowl after Pa'aluhi was injured...one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...finished 2009 with 12 tackles, including 1.5 for loss
  • So. Kevin Unga (6-1, 236) - Riley said in spring of 2010, "The Ungas are great football players.   • Sr. Dwight Roberson (6-0, 232) - 2009 honorable mention all-conference...13 straight starts...a good nose for the ball...strong and physical - plays with an attitude...55 tackles, third most out of returning players, including 7.5 for loss in '09...a lead by example type of player
     
  • So. Zane Norris (6-2, 223) - younger brother of Slade Norris...Riley says he will make an impact before his career his over...look for him to make an impact on special teams...named one the team's scout team MVPs on defense after the 2008 season
  • Fr. Michael Doctor (5-11, 216) - grayshirt who enrolled in Jan. of 2010...a physical specimen at a solid 203 pounds...could play on special teams...already added 15 pounds since arriving in Corvallis...coaches love his athleticism
     
  • RFr. Charlie Gilmur (6-1, 227) - walked in in spring of 2010...played for Curtis High School in Tacoma, WA...earned first team SPSL 4A linebacker honors as a senior...also played fullback

 

Secondary

CB:

  • Sr. James Dockery (6-1, 176) - 13 career starts, all consecutive...only member of the secondary to start all 13 games in 2009...tied for seventh in the Pac-10 with 10 passes defended...extremely athletic and rangy...one of the vocal leaders of the team...made 38 tackles, including 2.5 for loss in 2009...sometimes gets has trouble jamming receivers at the line of scrimmage
     
  • So. Jordan Poyer (5-11, 189) - one of the most pleasant surprises of 2009, the coaches want him on the field...one of eight true freshman to play in 2009...also played safety...second on the team with 10 special teams tackles...super athletic with natural football instinct...excelled as a gunner in 2009...also returned kickoffs later in the year
     
  • So. Brian Watkins (5-9, 179) - the younger brother of Anthony Watkins...a walk on...faces an uphill battle for playing time
     
  • RFr. Sean Martin (5-11, 170) - will miss spring practice with a shoulder injury...expected to compete for playing time when he is healthy...redshirted in 2009...needs to add 10-15 pounds
  • RFr. Greg Anderson (5-11, 176) - walked on in spring of 2010...played high school ball at David Douglas High in Oregon...earned first team Mt. Hood League running back honors as a senior

S:

  • Jr. Cameron Collins (6-2, 230) - 10 straight starts...took over starting duties at Cal on 11/7...fourth on the team with 70 stops...had a good offseason in the weight room according to strength coach Bryan Miller...an imposing figure at 230 pounds
  • Sr. Suaesi Tuimaunei (6-1, 205) - after starting the first four games of the year was replaced in the lineup...10 special teams tackles - tied for second most on the team...41 tackles in 2009...earned first team All-Pac-10 honors as a special teams player...the extra defensive back in the team's nickel package

  • RFr. Levi Levasa (5-11, 208) - walk on from Tualatin High...redshirted in 2009...faces an uphill battle for playing time

S:

  • Jr. Lance Mitchell (6-2, 207) - 12 starts, nine straight...a natural athlete who makes it look easy...third on the team with 72 tackles, the most out of returning players...a team high three interceptions...tied for seventh in the Pac-10 with 10 passes defended last season
     
  • So. Josh LaGrone (6-1, 200) - coaches were very excited about him before he got hurt...added 10 pounds in the offseason...missed most of 2009 due to knee surgery...a scout team standout in 2008
     
  • RFr. Dax Dilbeck (6-1, 203) - named MVP for the defensive scout team following the 2009 season...expected to compete for playing time...a future star on special teams...redshirted in 2009...added 10 pounds in the offseason
     
  • RFr. Zeke Sanders (6-1, 212) - redshirted in 2009...in contention to return kickoffs...added 16 pounds during redshirt year

CB:

  • Jr. Brandon Hardin (6-2, 219) - three starts...had a good offseason in the weight room according to strength coach Bryan Miller...big, physical corner who can mix it up with anyone...needs to work on locating the ball in the air...11 special teams tackles, the most on the team...an excellent gunner
     
  • So. Keynan Parker (5-11, 177) - Riley said in spring of 2010, "I'm excited about his ability. We know he's fast. Now he has to become a football player. He has to have some awareness out there"... participated in the 2010 UW Last Chance Meet in the 60-meter dash finishing with a time of 6.86, also ran in the Husky Indoor Classic finishing with a top 20 time...slowed down by a shoulder injury in 2009...did not record a statistic last year...one of the fastest players on the team
     
  • RFr. Rashaad Reynolds (5-10, 177) - competed in the 2010 UW Last Chance Meet in the 60-meter dash running 7.27, also ran in the Husky Indoor Classic...expected to compete for playing time...added 12 pounds during redshirt year...looks to be a standout on special teams...redshirted in 2009
     
  • So. Kaua Olds (5-10, 190) - a walk on from Ke Kula'o Samuel M. Kamakau...faces an uphill battle for playing time...redshirted in 2008
