ERICKSON SAYS:  On going back to Reser Stadium, "The first time that I went back was when they dedicated the new stadium, and I got to sit in one of those luxury boxes. I kind of enjoyed that. I don't think they'll quite give me something like that this time around. To say it's just another game, you know really isn't the truth, but it is at this point. I haven't coached there in six or seven years. So, it's just a game that hopefully we can continue to improve and give ourselves a chance to win."

GIMME THAT BALL:  The Sun Devil defense has forced eight turnovers (four fumbles, four interceptions) over the last two games after having only four the first five games of the season.  Unfortunately for ASU the offense has been able to convert just three of the 12 turnovers into points.

LOOKOUT QUARTERBACK:  Junior DE Dexter Davis has wasted no time this season establishing himself as one of the best pass rushers in the Pac-10. So far in 2008, Davis has 5.0 QB sacks, more than the rest of his team (the team only has nine), eight tackles for loss and 18 total tackles. He has started all 33 games in his Sun Devil career and has already totaled 21.5 sacks, 32 tackles for loss and 92 tackles.

I GOT A DEGREE MOM:  Seven members of the 2008 Sun Devil football team have already earned their degrees from Arizona State University. Rudy Carpenter, Mike Jones, Wes Evans, Angelo Fobbs-Valentino, Nate Kimbrough, Troy Nolan and David Smith have all graduated. The seven graduates is tied for 8th-most in the nation.

TOP 3:  The top three tacklers are LB Mike Nixon (54 tackles, 4 for loss, 2 interceptions), LB Travis Goethel (48 tackles, 6.5 for loss) and S Troy Nolan (34 tackles, .5 for loss, 2 interceptions). Nixon is third in the Pac-10 in tackles at 7.6 stops per game and has grabbed an interception in each of the last two games.

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE:  Ten true freshman, a school record, have played this year.  The 10 for ASU ties the Devils for 14th most in the nation, tied with four other teams.  Eight redshirt freshman have also played this year.  A combined 27 players have made their NCAA debuts this season for Arizona State.  Plus, Arizona State has one of the smallest senior classes in the nation. ASU has 15 seniors on their roster, one of five teams with that amount.

WHO?  MIKE JONES!:  Senior WR Mike Jones has been a two-sport athlete at ASU for three years, spending his springs with the Sun Devil baseball team. Jones, who was drafted in the 29th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees, spent his summer in Tampa, Florida as a member of the Gulf Coast Yankees in the Rookie League. He appeared in 15 games, collecting nine hits, including five doubles. Jones showed no rust from his summer of baseball, hauling in a team-leading 36 receptions for 477 yards and two touchdowns.

LOOKOUT:  The Arizona State offensive line, which features four upperclassmen starters, has given up 18 sacks this season.  In the last four games Carpenter has been sacked at least three times.  The buffet busters have also had a tough time blocking for the running game which averages just 87 yards a game, good for 114th nationally.

RUN HERRING RUN: Senior RB Keegan Herring leads all Pac-10 rushers with 2,380 career yards, good for 10th most in school history. With his 2,380 career rushing yards, Herring finds himself 10th on Arizona State's all-time rushing list, but he has been slowed down with a right hamstring injury this year. He has 146 yards and two touchdowns on 42 carries in four games this year and started his first game of the year last week against Oregon.

RELIABLE: QB Rudy Carpenter is second in the nation for the most consecutive games starting at quarterback in college football - he has started every game since he took over in the eighth game of 2005. Carpenter currently ranks third in the Pac-10 in both passing at 231.4 yards per game and total offense (223.1), but has thrown only nine touchdowns and seven interceptions.

MORE CARPENTER:  He is the active Pac-10 leader in passing attempts, completed passes, passing yards, touchdown passes and 300 yard games.  Carpenter currently ranks 10th in career passing yards (9,618), trailing Oregon State's Jonathan Smith (1998-2001) for 9th place, ninth in total offense (9,383) and seventh in career touchdown passes (74).

CONFIDENCE SHATTERED?: Sophmore PK Thomas Weber, the 2007 Lou Groza Award winner, has had three kicks blocked over the last month and has made just one of his last five attempts.  He has made eight of 12 kicks after making 24 of 25 tries last season.  Weber also handles punting duties averaging 41.0 yards per kick with 11 landing inside the 20.

A TALENTED FOURSOME:  Arizona State boast four receivers with 250 yards or more receiving and at least one touchdown.  Mike Jones leads the team with 36 catches for 477 yards and two touchdowns, Chris McGaha has 21 grabs for 294 yards and one score, Kerry Taylor has 17 receptions for 280 yards and two touchdowns and Kyle Williams has 14 catches for 252 yards and two touchdowns with a team best 18 yards per reception.
