| Biography: |
BeaverFootball.com Scouting Report:
An incredible arm, throwing for distance and strength…throws a beautiful long ball…his physical tools are as good as any quarterback's the Pac-10 has seen over the past few years...sometimes locks onto his receivers and has limited mobility…looking to have a breakout year in 2004.
Riley says:
"He is a tremendous young man, a very hard worker, and determined to get better."
College:
Will most likely own all of OSU’s passing records at the conclusion of the 2004 season…became the second player in Pac-10 history to eclipse the 4,000 yard passing mark in one season…a Pac-10 honorable mention selection in 2003...struggled in some games, excelled in others...an up and down season in 2002, his first as a starter...after four non-conference games, Anderson had gotten off to a great start. But Anderson's first Pac-10 road start was rocky against one of the nation's toughest defenses, USC...set multiple OSU passing records…Anderson rebounded and finished the year strong in the 45-24 Civil War victory over Oregon...was the backup to Jonathon Smith as a true freshman in 2001..
High School:
Derek Anderson was the first player ever to be named the basketball and football players of the year in the Oregon 3A classification. Led his team to the state championship and a perfect 13-0 record in 2000. |
