College:
2004 Insight Bowl MVP...caught a conference high 56 receptions for his position in 2004...became the schools all-time leader for receptions in just his second season at tight-end...redshirted in 2002.

High School:
Parade Magazine All-American...first team Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West list after his senior season, receiving seven of the possible 10 votes for the team – the highest total ever by a prep player from Oregon at that time...as a senior he caught 21 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns in nine games for head coach Thurman Bell, a starter on the 1965 OSU Rose Bowl team...for his offensive prep career he had 68 receptions for 1,019 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns...Tacoma News-Tribune Northwest Nugget Team member...SuperPrep Magazine rated him the top football player in the state, and Student Sports Magazine selected him among its top 10 tight ends in the nation...the Roseburg News-Review named him to its All-Century team...first team all-state on offense and defense...he played defensive end and was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the Southern Oregon Conference...also was a standout in basketball and track...he won the 4A state discus title as a senior with a toss of 178-10, which was more than 17 feet better than the second-place competitor...an all-league performer in basketball after averaging 18 points as a senior...in January of 2002 his football jersey (No. 87) was retired by Roseburg HS.
