| Biography: |
A rising quarterback, he graduated early from high school and joined team for spring practice of 2008. With good arm strength and accuracy, he is expected to redshirt in '08 with an eye towards challenging for the Beavs' starting position in the years to come. He has added 15 pounds to his frame since his arrival at OSU.
SANTA MONICA: Ocean League MVP as a senior after passing for 1,860 yards, 20 touchdowns and four interceptions...1,945 yards, 19 touchdowns and four interceptions as a junior...for his three-year varsity career he threw for 5,383 yards...school record six touchdown passes in a 2005 game...three-year team captain...participated in the OSU summer football camp in 2007.
PERSONAL: Born in Santa Monica, California...son of Michael and Jeannie Katz...has two sisters...National Honor Society member at Santa Monica HS...former prep teammate Cameron Collins is a safety at OSU...chose OSU because “I really enjoyed my time visiting campus and the coaching staff – OSU has everything I was looking for in a school”...contemplating majoring in business or exercise and sports science. |
