Has a real shot to earn the OSU starting punting job as a freshman walk-on in '08.
As a senior, Hekker kicked 21 punts for 771 yards (avg. 36.7) with a long of 57 yards. He also connected on nine field goals and 31 PAT. At quarterback in '07, Hekker led Bothell to a 13-1 record --- and the 4A state title game for the second straight year. He connected on 136 of 224 attempts (61 percent) for 1,981 yards, and threw 21 touchdowns against nine picks.
He earned first team all-league honors at both punter and quarterback in '07, was second team all-league at kicker and was named a White Chip by The Seattle Times in their annual recruiting rankings. Selected to play in Washington state's '08 East-West all-star game.
